“I come from a family where everyone had to play something…”

 Abi Lopez was born in Poland as Bozena Przeradowska. In preschool, Abi’s teacher took her mom aside and told her, “Your daughter will sing, she has talent.” And that’s how it all began… Along with her four older brothers, she entered a music elementary and middle school academy, a music high school academy, and followed the same path to receive her Master’s Degree from the Music University of Poznan in violin performance.

The violin is her “first language,” followed by the piano. Along the way, she also picked up the guitar, and if needed, will offer to, with the greatest pleasure, play a song for anyone. She fell in love with the voice of Whitney Houston and to shape her own sound, listened to Whitney’s CDs with no end. During college, she went on five performance tours with her own Christian group, “Echo,” where, along with her friends from school, she visited the USA, Asia, and Europe, playing on various stages and meeting many talented musicians. She fondly remembers those who had the biggest heart. Also during college, Abi formed her own orchestra, which allowed for her to attune her arranging and composition skills.

For the past four years, she lives in Chicago with her wonderful family: her loving and very handsome husband and two fabulous youngsters. Since her time in the States, she has been working with many Chicago-based musicians. She sees the other musicians in Marianna Band not only as fellow artists, but also as friends. She welcomes everyone to our parties, during which she feels we all have one really great time.
