Mitch is
an instrumentalist born by the Wisla River in the area known as
Wyszogrod, near Krakow, Poland. He honed his early career with an
education from the Krakow Music Academy under Professor Ignacy
Wyczynski with a focus on clarinet performance. At the beginning of
his musical profession, he performed with numerous groups and
instrumental big bands. To add to his clarinet focus, he began playing
the soprano and tenor saxophones. He worked with the Music Agencies of
Krakow, Lublin and Wroclaw under the direction of such great directors
as Franciszek Zielinski (the father of Jack and Andrew Zielinski),
Zbigniew Gorny, and Stanislaw Fijalkowski. Mitch has played the
accordion from a young age - some say even from birth. From this came
his musical abilities on piano, synthesizers, and keyboards.
Due to his interest and dexterity on these instruments, Mitch is a
true multi-instrumentalist. He is also a professional in the world of
Polish folklore. For the past twenty years, he has been the Director f
Music at the Northwest Center of Traditional Polish Dance and Culture
under the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, with the artistic
direction of Cecylia Roznowska and Anna Krysinski. With these groups,
he has performed at international festivals in Hungary, Poland, and
Taiwan, as well as at concerts in Israel and a group performance, in
private audience, for Pope John Paul the II in the Vatican in Rome. It
is said that Pope John Paul II was beating his cane to the beat of
Mitch’s playing. Mitch is the soul of the Marianna Band. In his private
life, he is the husband of Marianna and father of Marlena. His life’s
motto is to do good for others. |
